Description and Uses: Our Rose Otto (also called rose attar) is produced by a rose grower and rose essential oil distiller in Bulgaria's "Valley of the Roses" with a century-old tradition of fine quality essential oil distillation which yields pure rose oil.
Our Bulgarian Rose oil (rosa damascena) is steam distilled (not solvent extracted) and is 100% pure and natural. This pure rose essential oil contains the essence of Rosa Damascena flowers and is cultivated in the "Valley of the Roses" in Bulgaria where climate with gentle sunshine ensures the fragrance, purity and naturalness of the therapeutic quality rose otto essential oil intact and uncompromised.
Rose harvest time in Bulgaria starts in late May and continues, depending mainly on the weather conditions, for three to five weeks. The yield of rose oil varies year to year since it can be radically affected by the weather. The best weather conditions for Rose harvest is mild and humid weather with night temperatures around 24-28 deg. C. Harvest of the rose petals begins as soon as the flowers start opening and continues until all the rose flowers have been gathered.
More Info: The Rose flowers are picked very early in the morning while the morning dew is still on them, bagged and quickly transported to the distillery. The quantity of flowers picked daily is closely matched to the amount that can be processed in one day since if the rose flowers are not kept fresh they begin to deteriorate and the rose's precious volatile oil evaporates and looses quality.
The pure, undiluted Rose Essential Oil that results from this process is undeniably one of the finest Rose Oils available. Rose Otto is a warm, intense, immensely rich fragrance. One of the oldest and best known of all essential oils, Rose Essential Oil is used in all types of perfumes to lend beauty and depth to the aroma. A drop or two of rose oil in a massage, facial, or bath oil creates a luxurious, soothing experience.
Pure Bulgarian Rose Otto is a yellow to yellow-green oil which tends to solidify into a translucent semi-solid state at temperatures below 20°C. The aroma of the rose oils is warm, floral, specifically dense, fine with honey notes, specific for Bulgarian Rose oil. Extraction of the rose oil is by steam distillation. Bulgaria has a 330 year-old-tradition in Rose essential oil steam distillation (not solvent extracted) and is 100% pure. Absolutely no carrier oils are added! It takes about 10,000 pounds of rose flowers to make one pound of rose oil.
Only pure steam distillation leaves the oil in its natural state. This pure rose otto contains the essence of the precious and beautiful rosa damascena flowers cultured in the Valley of the Roses in Bulgaria. This perfect location and climate, with gentle sunshine, ensures minimum release of the aromatic ingredients from the flower.
The wax film on the rosa damascena remains thin because the plant does not need to strive to protect itself from strong solar radiation as do roses in other countries. This explains the smaller content of stearoptenes (waxes and solids) in the Bulgarian rose oil. Through steam distillation the oil globules are gently separated from the pink petals, leaving the fragrance, purity and vibration of the essential oil intact and uncompromised.
Rose otto is beneficial during times of stress. Rose oil helps to relieve nervous tension, stress and mild anxiety and menstrual symptoms. A few drops of our high quality Rose Oil (Rose Otto) will enliven romance, auras, chakras, love, libido, sensuality, happiness. 100% pure rose oil can also enhance inner vision, relationships and meditation and assist with skin care, easing grief, encouraging contentment, dissipating guilt, liver detoxing, opening the heart and balancing the female reproduction system. The rose fragrance enlivens the connection between our physical bodies and our spiritual selves.
Skin Care: Rose otto may be used on all skin types, especially mature and sensitive skin. For centuries the rose has been associated with feminine beauty and hence skin care. Bulgarian pure rose oil (aka rose attar) is a top note essential oil. Its frequency is extremely high and rapid. Rose oil has the highest frequency (320 Mhz) of all the essential oils. This is an important factor as it means that the fragrant molecules of the rose oil, on inhalation or application, are able to quickly penetrate and travel through the body, rapidly energising every cell, bringing balance, harmony and beauty to the body.
Rose essential oil has a long history in folk remedies, especially in the area of skin care. Rose oil is suitable for all skin types, but it is especially valuable for dry, sensitive or aging skins. It has a tonic and astringent effect on the capillaries just below the skin surface, which makes rose oil useful in diminishing the redness caused by enlarged capillaries. It is important to ensure that the product you use contains the genuine rose essential oil. Many manufacturers label their products containing rose essence but it could be synthetic. Synthetic rose ingredients have no therapeutic value at all! With authentic rose otto, a very little goes a long way - for most applications, only one or two drops of pure rose oil are needed.Safety Considerations:
"Artisan Essential Oils" means essential oils obtained directly from small, "boutique" distillers/producers specifically for the therapeutic and aromatic properties of the oils.
